Day 1 – Recap
Toronto Maple Leafs 4 – Montreal Canadiens 3
James van Riemsdyk (JVR) scored the first goal of the 2013-14 NHL season. Canadiens’ tough guy, George Parros, hit his head hard on the ice after falling during a fight with Toronto’s Colton Orr. Parros was taken off the ice on a stretcher and brought to a hospital for further evaluation, though he did appear conscious and alert while on the stretcher.
